What You'll Do
As a Sheet Metal Superintendent, you'll oversee commercial HVAC and sheet metal installations from the field, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Lead Field Operations
- Direct and supervise sheet metal crews on commercial construction projects
- Coordinate daily field activities to ensure productivity and project success
- Plan manpower, equipment, and material needs to support project schedules
- Maintain accountability for quality, safety, and workmanship across all phases of construction
Drive Project Execution
- Review drawings, specifications, and project schedules to develop execution plans
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, general contractors, and trade partners
- Identify and resolve field challenges before they impact schedules or budgets
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved
Build and Develop Teams
- Mentor and support foremen, lead installers, and field personnel
- Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
- Help develop the next generation of sheet metal leaders within the organization
Champion Safety and Quality
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety meetings
- Ensure installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and quality expectations
- Maintain organized, productive, and compliant jobsites
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial sheet metal and HVAC installation experience
- Proven experience leading crews, foremen, or field operations
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork installation, and mechanical construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Experience coordinating manpower, materials, and subcontractors
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Superintendent role
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with healthcare, industrial, or large commercial construction projects
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and modern construction technology
- Mechanical contracting experience within design-build environments
